Ang Mo Kio Central has its glory days before AMK Hub was built. It may not have shops we usually see in malls now but there are still many interesting buys and good deals in this heartland gem.

There is a Hang Ten outlet near AMK Hub. When there were atrium sales, these wagons of sale items are not so uncommon but during this period where atrium sales are not allowed, this shop comes in handy for people looking for good apparel buys. You can find the field report here.

There is a stall well known for its mee rebus in the food centre at Ang Mo Kio Central. The gravy is thick and tastes so good. No wonder there is even a queue at non peak hours.

To end the year, there are a number of light installations around Marina Bay. The much anticipated fireworks to countdown to a new year will not be held at Marina Bay due to safe distancing concerns. Here are some reasons to still visit Marina Bay.

Shine A Light comprises 60 light beams projecting from The Promontory nightly from now till 31 December between 8pm and 10.30pm. A 3-minute sequence will be played every 15 minutes. The light projection can be seen from the whole of Marina Bay and even beyond.

There is a 5 min light show being projected on The Fullerton Hotel. There is no details given about this light show online. That is probably due to safe distancing concerns.

It is amazing to see Merlion changing colours. I chanced upon this light show yesterday from Marina Bay Sands. There is a 5-minute light sequence. The crew was testing it when I was there. More details should be made official in due course.

A toy distributor in Redhill is having a warehouse sale. This is actually their yearly in-house sale to clear stocks they have.
​For under $10, you can even get many vintage toys that are no longer in production.

Vintage Dragon Ball figures are selling for $5.

Star Wars keychains and Marvel masks are available at clearance prices.

There are even Digimon figures that are authentic.

There are toys for the little ones to keep them occupied.

Disney items, which are out of production, are also available. 

Playmobil sets are going at good prices.

Still haven't bought toys for your little ones and yourselves for Christmas? Santa's warehouse sale is happening tomorrow. Originally held at Bishan Community Club last year, the venue is held at the distributors' warehouse this year due to COVID-19 safety concerns.

Santa's Warehouse Sale will be held at Jurong Logistics Hub, 31 Jurong Port Road, #05-25/26, Singapore 619115 daily from 10 Dec 2020 to 23 Dec 2020. Operating hours are from 10am to 7pm.

Toys on sale include Marvel, NERF, Star Wars, Transformers, My Little Pony, Baby Shark, board games, Oxford bricks, Majorette, Paw Patrol, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Dickie Toys and Mcfarlane.

These are the procedures stated by the distributor.

- Your temperature will be taken
- Limit of 20 customers in the shopping area at any time and 60 in the queue
- Observe safe distancing, masks to be worn at all times
- We reserve the right to refuse entry to customers who do not comply

There are many Marvel toys included in this sale. Items are available from $3. Many Marvel Legends sets are included in the line-up. Quite a number of items are not available for sale even in department stores. Do not miss the $15 Deadpool Monopoly.

Dragonball figures are available for $10 (not even $12) each. These include the Final Blast collection.

There are not that many Nerf guns to choose from during this sale compared to last year's sale. Nevertheless, the refill bullet darts are still worth buying. Nerf Rampage is going for $25.

Star Wars fans can find some good buys here. The light sabers are going for $150. Micro Force sets are priced to clear at $5.

There are a couple of good buys for Transformers toys. Deluxe Class Dinobot Red Swoop are selling for $15 and Leader Class Shockwave for $40.

There are a number of Play-Doh sets under $10. Though the range is not extensive, the available sets are at good prices.

Many toy vehiclea are going for $8. They are quite well made and the size is rather big. They are perfect for little boys to release their imaginations and whoosh them around.

Besides the above, there are still other toys like Power Rangers, Baby Shark and Oxford.
