Located in the end of the North Eastern part of Singapore, Punggol has its own night charm. Here is how you can take a 2 hour walk around Punggol. Punggol WaterwayStart your journey from the back of Waterway Point which is just beside Punggol MRT station. Just get out of the MRT station and walk through the mall till you get to the other end. You will be greeted by these lit up water features. Walk along the pavement and a enjoy the waterway along the way. The whole waterway is 4.2 kilometres long and it should be around 3.2 kilometres from the section behind Waterway Point till the end. Police BeaconAlong the way, you can find this police beacon. It is an automatic police stand which lets you get help in cases of emergency. You can call the police and find an AED set here. Never seen this before right? Continue walking along Punggol Waterway after this. Bridge to Lorong HalusThis bridge is no stranger to many. My friend has his wedding photo taken here. It leads to Lorong Halus Wetlands Park. You can take a walk to the other side but my advice is not make a detour and get back to the PCN as there are no buses out of Lorong Halus and it is pretty dark there. Container ParkTake a short walk along the PCN and you come across Container Park on top of the slope. You can find eateries like Big Fish Small Fish and Uncle Leong seafood here. This is a popular nightspot for residents in Punggol. There are even 2 bars to chill out at. Closed funfairJust beside the eateries, there is a fun fair being set up. It is not in operation at the moment though. Nurseries with CNY plantsJust in front of Container Park lies 2 nurseries which are loaded with CNY plants. They are Ideal Flora & Landscape and Sing See Soon Flora & Landscape. You can admire the flowers here leisurely. Riveria LRT stationJust in front of the nurseries, you can take the LRT at Riveria station and head back to Punggol MRT station to take the North East Line home. Comments are closed.
